Half of the success on any test is knowing how to take it. As you gear up for the ASVAB, here are a few things to consider.
The physical and digital versions of the ASVAB are two different tests. Both assess the same subjects, but the computerized version takes about half the time because it adapts to your performance in real time.
Three words: Understand the assignment. Every question on the ASVAB requires a specific answer, and sometimes there are multiple steps. Before you try to determine the answer for a question, be sure you know what it’s asking. After all, that’s part of the test!
There’s no penalty for guessing. When you don’t know the right answer to a question, try ruling out the answers you know aren’t correct and make an informed choice from there. Better than leaving it blank, right?
The computerized ASVAB has 135 questions and a time limit of 198 minutes — and the paper-and-pencil version is even more rigorous with 225 questions in 149 minutes. Whichever version you take, conserving your energy and managing your time effectively will be key to success!
You’re going to do great.
